Our Constitution
The governing document that guides how the federation is organised and how it works.
The AITF Constitution was adopted on 15 August 1989 and has been amended periodically to reflect the evolving needs of the teaching community. It provides the legal and organizational framework for the federation's functioning at national, state, and district levels.

01 Preamble
We, the teachers of India, united in our commitment to the cause of education and the welfare of the teaching community, do hereby establish this federation to safeguard our professional interests, promote educational excellence, and contribute to the nation-building process.
02 Objectives
- To promote and protect the interests of teachers at all levels of education
- To work for the professional growth and development of teachers
- To foster unity and solidarity among the teaching community
- To contribute to the formulation of education policies
- To organize welfare schemes for the benefit of members
- To promote research and innovation in education
03 Membership
Any teacher employed in a recognized educational institution in India shall be eligible for membership. Membership categories include Life Member, Annual Member, and Institutional Member.
04 Governance Structure
The federation is governed by the General Body, the Executive Council, and the Office Bearers. Elections are held every three years at all levels. The National President is the supreme head, assisted by Vice Presidents, General Secretary, and Treasurer.
